CIC's Rebecca Yu Shares Insights on Embodied Robotics

2026年01月07日

SHANGHAI, January 7th, 2026 ——  From tech showcase at the Year of the Snake Spring Festival Gala to genuine value creation, the embodied robotics industry is standing at the threshold of large-scale commercialization. 2025 marks a crucial watershed – as capital enthusiasm returns to rationality, stable delivery on real production lines and sustainable returns have become the core industry metrics, signaling the inflection point from "prototypes" to "products".

Recently, Rebecca Yu, Managing Director of CIC , shared in-depth insights on the current development and future trends of embodied robotics in an exclusive interview with Cailian Press. With long-term expertise in embodied robotics research and numerous high-profile media interviews on embodied intelligence, Rebecca's perspectives are widely recognized in the industry.

Here are the key takeaways from the interview:

Key Metrics for True Value Creation

Against the backdrop of multiple "100-million-yuan-level orders" and "thousand-unit-level deliveries" in 2025, Rebecca emphasizes that true value creation should not be measured merely by order amount or quantity. Instead, the focus should be on forming a sustainable commercial closed-loop, including:

  • Integration into real production chains and stable operation in clear scenarios

  • Deliver quantifiable benefits in efficiency, quality, and safety

  • Stable and consistent perception-decision-execution loop for target tasks (not one-time demos)

  • Real working condition data feedback loop, long-tail coverage, and iterative efficiency

  • Reliability, maintenance costs, deployment cycle, on-site manual intervention ratio, and repurchase/expansion capabilities

Bridging the Gap Between Orders and Delivery

Regarding the industry contradiction between "order boom" and "reliable delivery", Rebecca points out that this reflects a phased mismatch. The industry is in a critical transition from "demonstrable" to "large-scale deployable". The root causes include the need for improved system reliability, immature data feedback and model iteration systems, and unimproved software-hardware standards and supply chain collaboration.

In the short term, "order growth outpacing delivery capacity growth" is a typical sign of the industry approaching an explosion point. In the medium to long term, with the gradual improvement of data closed-loops, software-hardware integration, and standard systems, the industry is expected to move from single-point pilots to large-scale deployment.

Near-Term Trends (Next 6-12 Months)

2025 is regarded as the "Industry Inaugural Year" for embodied intelligent robotics, as the industry shifts from prototype demonstrations and proof-of-concept to small-batch deployment and engineering delivery in real scenarios. According to CIC , the global market size of embodied intelligent robotics solutions is expected to exceed 10 billion RMB (approximately 1.38 billion USD) in 2026.

2025-2026 is thus a critical window from "validation to scaling up". With the gradual opening of downstream scenarios (especially retail services, commercial exhibitions, and industrial manufacturing), the conditions for products to shift from single-point tests to batch replication are taking shape.
